I wondered about an iPod. Can you rip CDs to them?
I'm going to Mexico as part of a group so I don't know if I'll have any leeway in my itinary. Otherwise, I'd be glad to visit as I've never been across the pond before.
I ripped all of my CDs and can load any of them to my iPod.
The downside is it does require having iTunes on the computer. That's the interface it needs. And I've heard some people with PCs haven't had great luck with iTunes.
You might want to check an mp3 player that can use replacement SD cards. That way you could load the cards with any amount of media and swap it out when you need to. Players like that are much cheaper than an iPod Touch (don't know prices on the iPod Nano).
Interested in the SD cards. I only have a very cheap MP3 player that doesn't have the greatest of memory. I couldn't get the whole of 'Winter Holiday' on to it.
I might have done something with iTunes in the past.
remembering I replace my ipod then found the old one, if you are unsuccessful at birthday, I am happy to lend for the trip (and can load some books etc for you too). Is 3 years old so doeesn't maytter if it comes back (more!) scratched.

But while you're in North America you can stop by and say hello if you'd like.
