I did! And I didn't summarize very well! Oops.
Well, I guess you'll just figure it out as you go. Each group of students/each class will probably have a different learning style over the years, so you'll end up using all different strategies eventually anyway, I assume.
And I don't think you were as much showing off, as I was jealous :p, so no worries.
I still remember the dragons. And breaking Abby's Slinky and both of our crying about THAT - and Mrs. Dobbs trying to explain to me that it didn't matter because her Mom could afford to buy a new one (in my mind, a Slinky cost $5093850438 dollars.)
Idk, I think as you go along in your teaching days, you'll see strategies in action and they'll make sense. Maybe the book explains ALL of them because they don't want you to limit yourself. Try not to worry about it; it'll become clear once you get to know the students themselves. :) Also, that's what co-op teachers are for - lots and lots of advice!!
Going to look at pictures now.

True, true. Though there's a rumor that teachers who have had to deal with fresh Swatties before see us coming and say "I can help you with teaching however you like, just don't ask me to tell you how kids learn". Because we nitpick these things a lot.
