Just watched the first few minutes of Russel T Davies' Casanova - until the stupid computer froze up again *kicks computer*. I'll have to copy it over onto the laptop and try again
( Read more... )
I've not seen Casanova. Really want to - never seen Tennant in anything, and I'm curious about what sort of Doctor he's going to be.
Oooh, fic! I know what you mean about needing to do more thesis work. I'm going through one of those misty stages where the deadline is a long way off, and if I do an hour a day I consider myself a workaholic.

My thoughts precisely ;)
My deadline is drawing closer and closer - I have to hand it a more or less finished version to my teacher on August 12th. But I get stressed, and because I'm stressed, I don't work on it (if that makes any sense at all). It'll all work out in the end though, I hope.
Carrying out a study about personality and minor delinquency...the write-up is supposed to be 20,000 words, but that seems insanely excessive, given that a lot of journals have a limit of 5,000. I'd have to publish it in four parts!
Mine's on Indian music - more specifically on the alap, the slow, un-metered beginning of a raag performance (if that means anything to you ;-) ). It's quite interesting, but not all that easy. I transcribed two recordings (about 20 minutes each), and right now I'm in the process of analyising them.
The thing is that most of the books on Indian music are in English, but I have to write the thesis in German. In the beginning I had a really hard time switching back and forth between the languages, especially since I kept reading all the nice terms in English but didn't know how to describe it in German. *sigh*
