My car is sick. It wouldn't start today. I was at a pizza place getting a couple slices for lunch. Wouldn't start. Pause. Wouldn't start. Stress. Wouldn't start. Phone dad. Wouldn't start. The dings might be leaking oil or a dying battery.

Does it turn over but not catch? Or is there nothing when you turn the key?

Then its not the battery. It could be a lot of things, bad fuel injectors, plugged fuel line.

Could the dinging have been a low fuel indicator?

Haha, I'd be insulted by that except for the last time my car wouldn't start it actually was because I was out of gas. *embarrassed* But no, that's definitely not the problem this time - I doublechecked. It's hard to put it into words, but there was a very ominous "wrongness" to the sound the car was making as it was trying to start. I know there is definitely something that needs fixed.
