I hate Oprah. The amount of judgement and criticism that drips from her every word when she obviously dislikes the person she is interviewing.... ugh. She's not conducting interviews. She's using her power to humiliate people that she thinks are beneath her. (She's interviewing a man who killed his daughters when he was sick with severe depression ( Read more... )

oh, i'm so glad i'm not the only one who is not an oprah fan. i also find her to be incredibly judgemental. I appreciate all the good things she does, but she needs to stop being judge and jury.

Her horse is about a mile high. She really disgusts me. I don't think she used to be this bad because I used to occasionally watch her show. But now I rarely manage to leave it on more than five minutes before I'm rolling my eyes and telling her to STFU. (I watch the soap opera that's on right before her timeslot which is why I often see the beginning of her shows.)

The only thing that is worse are the episodes where she has the celebrity-of-the-hour on and she kisses their asses for a full hour. I remember seeing an episode with Gwyneth Paltrow one time... it was nauseating.

Hahaha, the tv just had a little news blurb teaser about how Oprah was snubbed by not being invited to Tom Cruise's wedding, even after the couch hopping show. How random and funny.

Interesting about the Opera critique. It makes some things I've seen lately make a bit more sense.

I haven't been able to watch her regularly for several years now but have maintained an "I love Opera" stance regardless. But when we were in Cambodia, we had this cute little hotel room (for $5, wheee!) and one of the cable stations would show Opera. And I got very excited by this since at times I'd feel homesick from our travels.

Anyway, it was Tim's first time watching her and I could tell he wasn't feeling her because of how she was acting on the show. I can't remember the topic/the guests, but I do remember having to say to Tim on more than a few occasions, "She's not usually like this. Usually she listens much more than she talks. Really, she's usually really great."

It sounds like in the time I've not watched her she's gotten a little higher on the soap box. :(

Yes, she interrupts people all the time, and puts words in their mouths to make interviews go the direction she wants.
