Today and tomorrow are kind of weird days, and Mom called me this morning and reminded me why. Mostly she called because I tried calling her last night and couldn't get through, but now that she isn't working, she has extra time and needed to say a few things

Congratulations on your, er, manhood.

I usually stop and visit my grandmother's grave when I'm passing through, and I went out of my way to take a look at Daddy's daddy's grave - they misspelled it. They would. I guess we won't be able to find each other in heaven after all. I don't reckon he'd be looking for me anyway.

Thanks - maybe I'll make a big deal out of it next year, for my 25th anny. Or not. Most likely not.

They misspelled it? Maybe the marble guys charge by the letter and your family ran out of money and chopped off a letter?

I'd visit more often (as in, ever), but Miami's just too far. And it's not exactly on the way anywhere except Key West. Now there's a thought....

We're not wealthy people, but we can afford all ten letters in our last name. And besides, they added an extra O. My suspicion is that my uncle HT, who doesn't have the good sense to correct people when they misspell it, ordered the stone.

I'd probably spell it with the extra o, tooo. Still, I would also double check to make sure they got it right - I bet that misspelling happens all the time.
