The Associated Press, followed by CNN, has called the Democratic nomination for Barack Obama. Hillary's people are dismissing any hint of her conceding the race. NY lawmakers claim she said in a conference call she'd be willing to be Obama's VP running mate.

She's unreal. She's been running for 2012, undermining Obama at every turn, undermining the party, since about March.

At least now more people will listen to me when I say she has ZERO chance of being VP.

Nancy Pelosi has been saying that for a while now. After tonight's fiasco and sheer mulishness, there's no way in hell Obama will want anything to do with her. Send her ass to campaign among those hard-working, white Americans in KY and WV that she claims voted for her (rather than against the black guy).

He'd be better off picking Chelsea. Which would be awesome.

I hope she gets a primary challenger, though I can't think of anyone offhand who'd be an obvious pick. She's quickly becoming detestable.

One of the most amazing things about this campaign has been the slow realization that maybe, just maybe, the right wing was at least partially right about the Clintons all along.

John Edwards polls really well, and I think he's worth a serious look; I really didn't think I'd ever back him for VP, but I'm starting to, though I know he doesn't want the job. I think Claire McCaskill would be great, but she's pretty fresh in the senate herself, so, I don't know. Sebelius hasn't impressed me. Maybe either Jim Webb or Mark Warner, but I think Obama can win Virginia without them. Bill Richardson?

Not Hillary. No way, no how.

I'm not sure who would be a good pick. He'll probably go a similar route that Bill Clinton took - rather than go for the obvious "balance" candidate (Quayle, Cheney), he'll pick someone closer to his own ideas. Of course, unlike Clinton, there really isn't anyone out there quite like Obama, so there will be some contrast on the ticket.

I would think someone white, just to ease some of the fears of Reagan Democrats and to keep WV and CO close. Edwards would be a slam dunk, but I think he's pegged for the Attorney General job. There's lots of talk down here about former GA Senator Sam Nunn, who is a perfect "balance" guy, but he's said it would be a bad idea to tap him.

Things will shake out in the next couple of months.

What? Despite the throngs of admiring supporters I could bring to the ticket?

And by "throngs of supporters" I mean my cat.

Your cat has friends, right? And cats vote nine times in some states.
