With apologies to lepapillonvert and her costume (pics over here), the highlight of the Sunday in the Park over at Oakland Cemetery was a bluegrass band. They were background noise until I was buying one of those overly expensive frozen lemonade cup things on my way out. Then I started recognizing the lyrics. And that's when I recognized the song. Hey, I'm just sad that we missed them. It was friggin' hot out there yesterday to be dressed in multiple layers. We ran home and peeled off our stuff and came back a little bit later.

I love the pictures. It was good to see you yesterday.

Totally random. OK, not totally. Kitten mentioned you and Carter might be there. I just got off the phone with Carter when I heard mumblemumblemumbleonthemicrophone about a costume contest and figured that's where you'd be. And sure enough!

I didn't stick around too much longer, either. Got myself some Varsity and a frozen lemonade, took some pictures, and that was that.

Everybody should hear bluegrass "When Doves Cry," or at least bluegrass. I wish I knew who the band was, but I'm too lazy to look them up (they're not on the Oakland site).
