captainoz talks about shopping at Trader Joe's all the time. I asked her the other day what was so good about it, and she basically said that some of their stuff (but not all) is really awesome and well-priced. The drawback is that they sometimes just run out of something common--I don't recall the example, but it was like "onions." I'm curious. We don't have one here, but as the home of Whole Foods, we have those up the wazoo. ;-)
Yeah, I wasn't all that impressed. I still managed to spend $35, but most of that was on frozen shrimp and scallions, which I very nearly overcooked tonight.
I mainly went to pick up a couple of bottles of wine, their "Two Buck Chuck," which costs us $2.49 because of Georgia's Puritan alcohol laws. (It's also available for $2.98 at a few liquor stores and even at least one Publix.) I got some frozen lunch things; I'll see how those are.
