FIC: Oliver Wants, 1/1, R

Title: Oliver Wants
Author: Tara Keezer
Rating: R
Fandom: Slings & Arrows
Notes: Geoffrey's oblivious, and Oliver isn't, so this gets a non-con warning; set during S2, which is why this is a bit darker than my usual style (yes, I'm blaming Mackers); 641 words.

Wowie. Dark, all right -- not just non-con, but non-con with the dead.
LOVE how your mind works!

I gorged myself on S&A this weekend, both seasons, which is why I have Oliver on the brain. I'm not sure I believe he would ever break Geoffrey's trust like that, but I do believe he's probably thought about it. A lot.

He is a bit of a bastard in his own inimitable way.

You're as bad as malnpudl with all the enabling, you know that? The next thing you know, I'll be writing that S&A/Firefly cross from the television meme (also your fault).

Oh, poor Oliver! I always feel so bad for him, doomed to (possibly eternal) unrequited love.

I don't know that he'd actually do this... but then again, I don't know that he wouldn't, either.

Very nice. You know, in a not so nice sort of way. ;-)

I'm not convinced he would do this, but I'm totally convinced he's thought about doing this quite a lot. And if someone is thinking about something that much, it wouldn't take much to tip them over the line. Also, Oliver said it himself - he's dead, so he has no one to impress any longer. Nor does he have to worry about social niceties.

If Oliver were ever to realize in canon just how many rules he can ignore, I can just barely see him going over the line after one too many frustrating moments with Geoffrey's blindness.

At last LJ has stopped playing up and I've managed to come back and comment on this (after reading it before work and not having time to do so.) There's something scarily hot about this whole scenario - and I can quite see it, particularly after Oliver's deluded 'Are you breaking up with me' comment. You've caught Oliver's whole frame of mind very well.

And it's non-con of a sort, it's so wrong, but boy, can I sympathise with Oliver. Because Geoffrey really is a beautiful twit, and the more rumpled and vulnerable and crazy he gets, the more irresistible he is. And I'd better stop there before I really embarrass myself.

Great job - thank you! May you be inspired to write many more S&A pieces. May I take the liberty of friending you in case you do?

I feel so sorry for Oliver at times, and then I remember that he's part of Geoffrey's problem, both then and now. I think "conflicted" describes my state of mind nicely when it comes to Oliver.

As for friending me, feel free to do so (as I'll be friending you back in the hope of seeing more Ray/Ray from you). I'm not sure why people flip out over friending -- I never have.

"Conflicted" is a pretty good word for Slings & Arrows, in general!

BTW I don't flip out over 'friending,' either, and never have done. I just feel I'm being more friendly by mentioning it. ;-)
