Quarrel pt. 1 doesn't appear to be in the memories, unless I'm blind.

You aren't blind. I forgot to add it way back when. Thanks for letting me know. It's in there now.

Interesting first two thirds of the fic. I'm not familiar with the Sam Braun story line--or that he was even her father! Or that Jim's daughter wasn't his either...so confused, so woefully behind. My TiVo'd better work overtime to make up for this lack of CSIness. Humph.

But as for the actual writing and plotting, it reads as a very real fight, tangible in the denial and bitterness. Yes, I can see Catherine's side, but like Sara and probably Jim, I just want to shake her.

The issue with Jim's daughter came out in S2's "Ellie," and was fleshed out in S5's "Hollywood Brass." Catherine found out about Sam at the end of S3.

I'm glad the fight works for you. I tend not to fight like that, so I'm never sure if I got it right. And yes, both Jim and Sara would like to wring her neck.

I'm sure she'll find the time to rinse her mouth out before she sees him, because yes, I tend to want to toss my own cookies when authors have characters kissing immediately after they've puked.

More Brillows! And Sara as peacemaker! I'm glad you got back to this. For those looking for part one, it's not in the memories, but it is under the Brillows tag.

Been meaning to tell you I like this icon. It almost looks like a cave painting.

It's actually a floor mosaic from a house in Pompeii. It's one of the best preserved mosaics in the whole city, for whatever reason. If you go to my userinfo page, you can see it in all its larger glory.

Wow, you push RIGHT UP to that "Yay! Girl power!" border and manage to stay on this side of it.

This is the kind of relationship I like to see between Sara and Catherine; it's real. They're not "omgbff!" but they're not all catty and backstabbing. They get along, they respect each other, they DO care about each other. And yes, Sara is hopeless.

I'd missed this! So glad it's back.

In some ways, Sara is completely hopeless. But in other ways, she's so far ahead of the rest of them, it's not even funny. She doesn't back down from what she believes, and if she has to take out a few egos in the process, she does so. Of course, at the same time she does that, she's also shooting herself in the foot, but that's the hopeless part.

Anyhow, glad you liked it.

Very nice - very canon of Catherine to spill her personal issues over into a case, nice to see Sara pulling her back. And very nice to see a little bit of respect/friendship between the two!

I'm not sure why you're uncertain of this part because it's still all ringing true for me (although I've not managed to watch much of anything past season 3...)
