Much better

I feel much better.  I had to go back to the ER, but this time, I was actually treated with some dignity.  The doctor I saw this time was very kind, and more than willing to listen to me and help me.  So I got a higher dose of the morphine, which finally worked.  An annoying side effect of morphine is that it makes me terribly itchy.  I want to run ( Read more... )

I'm glad you're feeling better. And dammit, write that letter, especially since you have such a contrasting experience from today, and be sure to include that and praise that and really show how much of a difference between the two experiences there are.

I wrote a complaint letter about my last ER experience (one of my worst ever), and I got a lovely non-apology-apology. Something like "I'm sorry you felt like you had a bad experience blah blah". Even though the chief of Emergency Medicine admitted that the Dr did not follow protocol by not giving me something for pain.

It was still worth writing though, but I didn't bother following up--would have made me too angry.

Glad you're feeling better.

Thanks. I wonder what their guidelines are for treating migraines. At my ER, they send us home with a migraine info sheet... that completely blows their description of what a migraine is. I need to write a letter about that too...

That's a common side affect of Morphine, definitely. I think it's a very good idea to write a letter to the hospital about the ER treatment you had the first time. I have done that before. We have to be heard. It's the only way to get it out there, that true Migraine patients do not deserve to be treated this way! I'm glad it was better the second time around though! HUGZ!

Thanks hon. I think it's good that itching is the only side effect I get from morphine - it doesn't even make me drowsy. Actually, almost *nothing* makes me drowsy.

You're sweet. Hugs!

Clothing is optional at home, but they'll never let me go into the bank without them.

You make me laugh!
