you just gotta hang in there.... and if that means not going out for a bit and being bored, then that's what it takes. that is certainly better than going home isn't it? nyc is a tough city. so expensive. keep working at it though, you'll make it!

besides, where else am i gonna crash next time i come back?;)

if I move to denver for beatport, you should come.

i'd want to work at beatport, though. ;)

did you ever bother to look at their job listings?

I'm actually super stunned at how healthy the techno scene apparently is in denver, and I can only assume thanks to beaport. It seems like most, if not all, of the big clubs there have serious techno nights. You could fit in quite well there.

i took a look at their job postings, and its all stuff i couldn't do. heh. i'm definitely not a programmer.

none of the guys at the lab can help you find a residency? that's kinda bunk if you ask me.

they're so concerned about reggaeton, baltimore, and mashup stuff that my techno world is out of their league entirely.

i'm pretty much on my own, but having a ttl business card does help quite a bit, believe it or not.

what about alison or bogman? isn't alison the head of the dance music dept. for their website/store?

i've talked to alison about all of this, and she's in the same rut i am. ttl focuses on the stuff her and i don't play.

as for bogman, he's so hard to get ahold of its a chore in itself. i'll hit him up again though.

have you considered barbacking? i know the service industry isn't the most fabulous, but it could solve the money and the networking issues in a pinch.

yeah, i have. i'm really hoping that i can land this gig djing this one restaurant in soho, and if i do so, then i'm set for a long, long time.

but i can't bank on it. so...if this doesn't work out, i might try and barback a few places, maybe on a weeknight so i can still enjoy my weekends.
