How much would you say that someone playing 3D virtual games on the Internet is not using his/her energy to help save the planet? Do these people signifying that the Earth is not valuable? Or is there a way to keep playing and still care for the real world and nature?

What Do YOU think? :-)

Peace!

personally I'm interested in virtual worlds as microcosms that have quicker feedback loops and measurable aspects....in the hope that certain behaviors in individuals will spread like a positive virus which ultimately has a positive effect on the Real world, i.e. saving the planet.:)
I think the addictive nature of virtual games IS difficult to balance with time in and appreciation of nature...and it is a tricky responsibility on the individual to monitor and balance and to not forget and/or forgo the beauty of the natural world. However, there are ways that I also see a heightened appreciation of the natural world coming from the attempts to recreate aspects of nature and reality in detail virtually....which like painting, improves our sight and appreciation of the beauty around us. And the realization of the details that cannot be duplicated, the aspects that are difficult to convey digitally....also gives a heightened appreciation to the natural world.

Hah!

I was GOING to say, "You should talk to avaD about this, she's bound to have some ideas" but she appears to have beaten me to it. ;)
