Google is somewhat useful for translation, if the text you need to translate is short, doesn't contain a lot of slang and it's written using a correct grammar structure; which basically means if you are really lucky.
Anyway, don't translate from german to italian: it's useless, you get just strange stuff. Try german to english, the two languages have a lot of things in common and the translator does its job.
