True, the city has finally sent him home, but not for eternity. Instead, it had chosen to bring him back, after a year has passed in his home world.
Maybe it was for the best. Hungary as a best friend has been replaced by Rose as a special friend, and as someone who knew her past and her darkest secrets, he couldn't possibly left her alone. It wasn't his call, though. He had no authority over the matter. They were at the city's mercy, and it has chosen to be harsh. It has chosen to be harsh and sent Iceland back to his prison. He had spent a little over the year now, and the feeling of knowing that he could have spent another year...was indescribable. The only consolation he had was Rose ( ... )

Well, he'd have to fix that, wouldn't he?
"It's about time you showed up. I thought that you might have been trying to skip out on that sparring match you promised me," he teased.

"Maybe I do," He teased back, face remained the same, lineface and all. "Maybe I don't. You never know."

He took another sip of his cider before speaking again. "What brings you here tonight? I didn't take you for much of a drinker."

Well she made it here safely enough at least. Of course Jade stuck out to her right away. Esther waved to get his attention before starting to cross over to him. "Jade! What are you doing here on a night like this?"
Reply
"I could ask the same of you. Shouldn't you be somewhere a little less suspicious?"

"Are you saying that I'm suspicious, Esther? I'm hurt," he complained, and took a sip of his drink.

"Feeling nostalgic, Seth?" he asked her, by way of greeting.

A chuckle as she folds her hands behind her head. "So I hate to break it to you but no."

He already knew the answer, but it was all just part of their usual banter.

Meanwhile, the displaced Banshee Queen sat alone at a small table, to all appearances absorbed in her champagne. The festive spirit of Winter's Veil drew even Sylvanas out of seclusion. Since this establishment required "formal" attire, and her armor did not qualify the last time she had tried to enter, she had purchased and donned a sleek dusk-purple dress appropriate for this occasion -- and perhaps other, future engagements. Some of the men were certainly casting her favorable glances.
She listened to the conversations around her, sifting through the banter and gossip for anything useful or interesting.

It was easy enough to pick Sylvanas out from a crowd, even with his back turned. All one had to do was follow his nose, really. He glanced over one shoulder to see where she had situated herself.
And when he saw what she was wearing, he couldn't help but comment.
"My, my. All dressed up and nowhere to go?" he asked. "On a night like this you might end up as an ice sculpture, wearing something that thin."

One molten red eye shifted to meet his sidelong. Recognizing the uniform, facial features, and teasing tone, Sylvanas turned in her chair to face him.
"Jade...Curtiss," she acknowledged politely, if coolly, the effect slightly weakened by needing to search for his last name. "So good to see you again." A smirk played along the edges of her mouth as she continued, "Your concern is touching, truly, but I have endured far colder weather than this and remained battle-ready -- unlike those mindless mobs I saw when I first arrived."
