The bullets ricochetted off, though one snapped back off the pavement and clipped the leg one of the Choir who'd moved too far outside the shield's bubble of protection. With a shout they stumbled, falling over.
That would be her only chance. She fired a few more shots, making sure they weren't fatal- killing the Choir members wasn't her objective at all. She rushed at the standing member, hoping that the new tactic would be enough of a surprise to let her get past them.
It did take him down, but unfortunately he pulled Olivia with him, and they all ended up in a tangle of cloaks and limbs. Not the most graceful takedown.
No, it was far from graceful and it was also unfortunate for Olivia. For all her determination and creepily accurate shooting, close combat was her weakest skill, and thus she was at a bit of a disadvantage, which she recognized. Almost immediately she started extracting herself, throwing in attacks where she could. It was a bit of a struggle, but she manage to get to her feet and begin stumbling off determinedly. Somewhere in the back of her mind she promised herself to keep going unless there was some blood loss going on- she didn't think she'd have it in her to keep going then.

It was pretty much exactly what he'd told Jim- damn if he wasn't going down without a fight. He'd been accused of some pretty awkward things in the past, but murder was a new one. And he was getting sick of hearing about how the woes of Elegy were all his goddamn fault when he didn't even want to be here in the first place. How was killing anyone supposed to help with that anyway? The longer this went on, the more it felt like it was the bad idea kind of reactionary politics that made everyone feel safer without doing jack shit about the real problem

Steve strapped his shield on his arm and walked outside of the hotel to stand beside Tony. He looked relaxed as he cast his eyes over the seemingly deserted street. It saddened him that he wasn't actually surprised that there was a war here--new place, same old wars.
Looking at Tony, he smiled a bit, "You ready to give them something to remember?"

It wasn't all that surprising to hear the voice behind him- he'd been expecting it after all. So of course, he turned around and faced the man as he answered the question, even if the answer should really have been obvious. He was almost himself again.

The smile dropped off his face as he turned to discover the patrol heading in their direction. It was too late to back out now- even if he had wanted to. This was what essentially amounted to a final stand, but god it felt like the right thing to do. At least it was something and that was a whole hell of a lot more than the nothing he'd been doing lately.
Steve faced the patrol, brow furrowing in concentration. He wanted this over as soon as possible--this Tony seemed so much...greener than the one he knew, and Steve doubted he had the years of combat training that the other did.
He started walking towards the two, hands held a bit up, "We don't have to do this, you know," he told them. "Our fight isn't against you."
Of course he had known the whole thing was a bad idea to begin with, but it was starting to sink in just how bad now that they were actually staring down the forces coming for them. He would have felt better with the armor, but he wasn't so lucky. He would have to fix that if they made it through this.
Silently, he balled his hands into fists- only realizing that after the fact- as he steeled himself for the inevitable fight brewing underneath the surface.

It was worth a shot at least.

"Yeah, I don't think they're listening."
