Yes, I bought it on DVD :) I really like it, it's a strangely compelling film. I think it's the way it is shot that really interests me; sort of a similar atmosphere to the Virgin Suicides, but much darker and more English.

My sister likes it as well (she's 15 and finds things like incest quite novel). Having studied Oedipus and Lolita, I think I'm becoming de-sensitised to 'perverse' sexualities, in literature and film anyway. I would like to read the book, as well as other Ian McEwan books.

Apparently the Tears are playing Shepherd's Bush Empire on my birthday...ooh the temptation. Yes, I'm just tryng to make you jealous now...;)

Also Andrew Robertson is starting out on a music career, following (unconsciously) in Finn and Bernard's footsteps no doubt!

So all is well in the world :) (Well not quite all, but it's enough)

You added me, so I added back. Sorry it took so damn long. I also noticed we have a lot of common. Parden me for snooping but now you got me interested in seeing 'The Cement Garden.' I won't delete you :) I think I did see you on th PJ Harvey community. And thank you for the compliment. I have to admit I'm quite lazy with my journal, I pretty much update as and when, if that doesn't put you off!
