Alice's Mini Plots

Apr 19, 2009 12:51

Alice has a very special skill; namely, she can tie and untie knots that no one else can. Lest you think this is a stupid talent to have, allow me to introduce to you what this means for the passengers and players of Elegante.

I have put up a permanent post in Alice’s journal, (also linked on her profile and HERE) with screened comments. If you find yourself stuck in a rut, bored, wanting to meet new people, or, more hopefully, curious about the boat itself and the plot and players, this is the entry for you!

Players are welcome to volunteer their characters via this entry for mini-plots. I’ll be randomly pairing people/characters who sign up for a tiny itty bitty plot-the aim being that it can be wrapped up in a single comment log. (See the entry for more player controlled variables, such as preferred violence level of the plot, cracky or non-cracky, etc.)

After I’ve paired up two characters, Alice will make an entry in which she literally ties the two together with a piece of unbreakable string. I will also be contacting both muns to give you pertinent details and hints for how these two characters go about getting untied, which will be their main goal. But along the way, they will also discover something about the ship and possibly gain some small, (or big!) reward. Rewards will not be specific to the type of plot requested, which means violent quests won’t be rewarded any more or less than cracky or non-violent quests.

The commentlog between the two tied up characters is totally arranged between the two muns of those characters. You won’t need Alice for them… Unless they feel like trying to hunt her down. All plot information will be known to every mod, and we’ll be keeping an eye on the logs to make sure you don’t get stuck, as well as occasionally tagging with NPCs to help in the characters quest.

Oh, and crew are included. Want some face time with Jamie? Feel like pairing your pup up with B? Here’s your chance.

For now, I’ll be working on one of these miniplots a week, until the mods sort out how much work this will require and how many we can handle.
