Remy hadn't taken Gideon up on his offer to help the wizard supply the passengers with food. And, after awhile of waiting around, the drummer was starting to feel restless and concerned.

Against his better judgment, this has found him poking carefully around the decks looking for his friend. He really wasn't expecting to be out long; a part of him expected Remy to already have gotten what he needed and gotten out.

The clatter of noise draws his attention, and he whirls around to see Remy coming down the halls. He assumes that all the objects are some sort of defense from the many troubles of the boat.

"There you are! You can really worry a guy. Did you get what you needed?"

He sees the other man down the hall and he keeps walking. He doesn't want to stop walking. Remy is focused on what it is he wants to do. So focused, in fact, that all he somewhat understands of what Gideon said was his question.

Remy nods once and a chair flies fast and furious at the drummer.

Gideon sees the nod and smiles in relief, but it... wasn't what he expected. Not a confirmation of what he said, it seems, but rather a direction.

Thankfully he has some pretty good reflexes about him and flings himself to the side, avoiding the first projectile. He tucks himself into a roll and comes up crouched, but his side--still recovering-- berates him for it and he staggers.

It's then that he notices something. Remy isn't holding any food. Something else had to have happened to him. Still, the drummer is obviously reluctant to fight his friend.

"I-I get it! You don't want me to leave my room," Gideon breathes. "Sorry! I just didn't see the need for you to be out risking yourself."

Oh, now you listen, Gideon. It's too late for listening.

He continues to walk forward as he raises his right arm slightly and Gideon should find himself unable to move. Remy caught that wince. Gideon's side's vulnerable. The fork coming his way seems to be perfectly aware of that.

[A couple days ago, Andrew got acquainted with Toph, and since he's felt extremely generous towards her. She's not as big a bully as he thought she was at first. So, rather carelessly, he's ventured out of his room to make the journey to her room and leave a cup of instant noodles there. He's sure she can't go to get her own food in this mess and he still has an abundance of it ( ... )

Why yes, that is what Andrew sees. But as Remy gets ever so closer, it's quite clear that it's not just knives surrounding him. It's a little bit of everything, really, including a blood stained chair and table lamp.

Remy approaches slowly and slightly turns his head to look directly at Andrew. One of those knives that seem to have caught Andrew's interest comes flying toward him.

Andrew just manages to get out a shrill "Oh, God!" as he ducks the knife, holding his hands over his head.

He stumbles to the wall as he straightens up, looking first in the direction the knife went, then in the direction it came from. "What the hell, dude?!"

What is the quickest way to get out of this situation? He has to get to his room.

Remy doesn't respond or even acknowledge anything Andrew says. He keeps pressing forward, objects still circulating his form.

The knife that had attacked finds its place above Remy's shoulder and the wizard eyes Andrew more intensely. He was quick to dodge that. Perhaps something bigger will hit this time. Yes, one of the small tables from the coffee shop should do nicely.

Xanth was already rather hungry when Remy offered to find food, so when the food never came, naturally he would set out to find his own. The halls weren't so terrible as long as you were quick and quiet, and silence came easily to Xanth, as long as he wasn't panicked.

But, seeing all those flying knives? Did nothing for his calmness. Xanth's eyes widen and he ducks back around a corner, hoping that he wasn't seen and hoping that he was just overreacting, as usual.

Xanth was lucky to have ducked away so quickly. Remy had just missed being able to hold him still. He continues to make his way down the hall toward the corner he knew was shielding his new target.

Oh god oh god footsteps. Xanth keeps his eyes trained on the corner and, with his back against the wall, shifts away from the source of the noises. Maybe he wasn't seen? Maybe Xanth was just seeing things?

All he needs is one more hint of danger before he'll break out into a full run.

Remy's heels click against the floor, echoing loudly as he approaches the corner. He knows the other person is there. He knows. He also knows not to rush it. Xanth could be plotting an attack of his own.

Remy sends a warning shot around the corner. It's simply a fork.

Enough is enough. Vanyel had known something was wrong when Remy didn't return with what he'd gone for, when he didn't reply and couldn't be found. That notion had been confirmed when he found the trail of destruction and blood-trail in the halls. A properly trained Herald could track bandits through forest on a moonless night- following the wake of a Fetching Gift's attack was trivial.

Of course, he hadn't really thought it was Remy himself until he saw him with his own eyes. Right. Time to go to work.

"Remy," He called, and his shields were live things, dim and dormant to mage-sight, but sprung live to spirit and senses, keyed-physical ward and mage-shielding like a triplicate skin against his own, "Remy Whitecastle, what have you done?"

Someone was calling his name. He knew his name well and good, but talking to him was distracting. He needed to take care of the annoyance now. He didn't have many left, but sill sent two knives flying toward Vanyel.

Vanyel didn't waste energy in blocking, instead he neatly sidestepped and the knives buried themselves quivering in the wall behind him. He didn't bother looking at them, and instead stalked towards the wizard with purpose in his step.

"I will allow you one warning," He called sharply, "Get hold of yourself!"

So he wanted a fight did he? Remy crouched down. He knew he had to make this quick. The mass usage of magic Remy had been performing was starting to take his toll. He was weaker, slower. He needed to take Vanyel out fast.

He sends the bloodstained chair and table lamp after Vanyel.
