Ripa has done fine at avoiding the hazards of the boat thus far, and as such, hasn't felt the need to stay locked up in his room. He's out carefully patrolling the decks when he hears some loud screaming.

The Sangheili snorts in annoyance and heads straight for Deck 20. His heart isn't really set out to help; he's hoping he'll get some fun out of this.

"Who's out there?"

The sound of another voice gave him hope. While he'd seen little around the ship that could be used as such, he figured that if help had somehow found him; maybe they had weapons.

"Over here!" He called, dropping into a slide under a large tree root. The beastie on his heels wasn't terribly nimble and slammed into the tree with a dull thud because it couldn't stop.

Cou clamored to his feet in a hurry, he could still hear at least two or three more of those things nearby, their shadowy forms drifting in and out of his peripheral. "Hey! Whoever you are! Where are you?!"

"I am right here," Ripa snarls, rounding the tree.

Cou is lucky that there are currently more of the beasts left; it gives Ripa something else to direct his cruelty upon. The Sangheili steps up and settles into a defensive position, waiting to see if one of them will attack.

His course took him right past the alien, granted after having one of his first encounters on the ship being a talking, humanoid turtle, something else that he'd never seen should not have been a shock to him. Still at that size and cutting that imposing a profile, he couldn't help but to screech to a halt so he could whirl about and see why he wasn't running too.

The beasts hastily lost interest in their smaller bit of prey in favor of this significantly larger new comer. The apparent pack leader stared the Sangheili and gave a low, menacing growl as a challenge while its pack mates formed a loose circle around, pacing back in forth as they watched in anticipation.

Whipping out his hook and line, the sky pirate flung it high and caught into the upper branches of a nearby tree. While his savior looked exceptionally formidable, he had no idea what the creatures it was staring down were capable of. So at least from this vantage, if things went wrong, he could at least drop an escape line.
