Who: Herz and Leo (Closed) When: Around four in the morning, early Tuesday. Where: Sergei's kitchen Warning: PG-13 to R for violence and possibly not-so-nice imagery.
Leonardo couldn't sleep, but that wasn't anything new. His hours always took weird turns at the oddest times, so he just resolved himself to collapse into bed when he was tired and leave it at that.
His stomach, however, he couldn't ignore.
So he headed over to Sergei's, intent on borrowing the facilities to make himself a snack. He knew Herz wouldn't mind, so long as he cleaned up after himself. Of course, once he approached and saw the light beneath the door, he knew he might not even have to worry about it; Herz always seemed more than happy to cook for people. It was refreshing, not having to cook your own meals, and something Leo was quickly becoming used to.
He pushed the door open; it was Herz. He remembered the last time he'd snuck up on Herz. ...it hadn't gone well. So this time he steeled himself and resolved to walk over to him like a normal person. Well...as normal as a five foot turtle could get, anyway
( ... )
Herz reacts instantly, fueled by panic and some manic need to not lose.
The teen twists around and grabs at where he wants the neck to be--and there it is. Without really knowing what his body is doing, he forces it to the floor, the intruder under him. Finally, he drives the blade into the bastard's shoulder until the tip of it won't press another centimeter into the floor. It only takes a moment. He's screaming the entire time.
It's only after the blood's on his hands that he realizes the person he just attacked wasn't Erol.
Herz would flail dramatically, shout, curse and get angry and upset, but Leo had never once seen -or experienced- an actual attack. If he were of a clearer mind, he might have just stepped to the side, let Herz brush past harmlessly until he calmed down. If he had been on guard, he probably would have even flipped him once Herz threw his weight forward. As it was, his knee came up to dig into Herz's stomach and while his mind struggled to catch up, his body reacted and he gripped Herz's wrists hard, intending to twist.
He'd had a knife. Leo caught the flash of it when he turned. He had to disarm him and retaliate.
Wait, this is Herz-!
When Leo blinked he forced himself to loosen his grip on Herz's wrists, though he didn't let go. His shoulder hurt. A lot.
He gasps when the knee connects with his gut, but it's not what stuns him the most. He realizes who he just attacked.
He's...no idea why he did that.
No, not true, there's definitely a reason why he overreacted, but that doesn't forgive this.
It doesn't seem real. This can't be happening. He'd never hurt a friend--he'd certainly never hurt Leo. He'd never be able to hurt Leo!
This isn't happening.
This is a nightmare.
Herz wheezes, but doesn't move. He stares down into Leo's wide eyes and waits for the next part of the nightmare to come, or for him to wake up, or...something.
