Ichigo lately... well, "hasn't been upbeat" is just putting it lightly. She felt confused, upset, homesick, and whatever else happened to be the same as "depressed". She felt quite unstable and managed to break down a couple of times in her room - not having Hikaru around to tease her really put a number on her, as well as being separated form her family and friends. It didn't make her feel any better that there were others on board that were feeling the same as she was; either there was a bug that was going around making folks go over-emotional or this was the Captain's doing again. If she weren't so depressed, she would've leaned towards the latter ( ... )

As it was, there were non smoking areas on the boat -- the entire inside of the boat was one. However, the concept of a non smoking area went completely over Akagi's head. It wasn't as if there was anything wrong with smoking, everyone did it, even little old ladies. And if there was anything bad about it, surely the filters took care of that.

He turned when he heard Ichigo, eyeing her with that same blank stare he gave anything. What was she doing? There was always the chance she was allergic to the smoke, he supposed.

"Is something wrong?" he asked, giving the girl a once over. She certainly looked Japanese, hopefully she would be able to understand him.

She wasn't allergic to smoke, that much she was thankful for, otherwise she'd have to quit being a Mew Mew. But she just absolutely hated smoking. She honestly didn't understand the concept of smoking because she was too much of an innocent to even THINK of trying it, but she knew that pleasure somehow came out of it. Pleasure, then the horrific results she'd seen in Health class... it reminded her of masochists...

Freaks.

"Isn't smoking bad for you?" she asked back, her voice a little muffled due to her shirt. She didn't feel very comfortable when he looked at her. There was something just... not right about the guy. And what was up with his nose?!

Good, she did speak Japanese. Akagi looked at his cigarette thoughtfully. "I've never heard of that." Well, he might of heard something about it, but it was more of a rumour than anything. He took another puff.

"It has a filter, you know."
