Tan's always enjoyed lazing. Until he got to the boat, that is. These days he's filled with a near permanent restlessless. So while Herz dozes, Tan fidgets. Quietly. For a little while.
"So..." Okay, Tan, where are you going with that? He shakes his head slightly. "Sorry about the flashing lights. Be glad you weren't in here when the siren went off."
That...is not where he was going with that.
"It was like some awful sci-fi thing. Warning, warning, the aliens are attacking!"
Still not where he was going with that, but kind of funny anyway. He grins at his human blanket.
It takes a sec for Herz to realize what he's talking about. Sorry, he's still a little foggy. Then he laughs and flops back against his pillow.
"No, it--it'ssokay. It just--it--it wasn't what I was expecting. Maybe if--if there'd been a siren, I would've been more...I dunno. Prepared?" Lies. He would've opened the door, intrigued by this strange sound, and promptly been blinded. He's a smart boy, innit he?

Okay, he really can't shut off his brain.
"Hey."

Herz sits up slightly, enough to look at Tan without straining his neck. "Hmm?" he asks, intelligently.
