Characters: Hannibal King [ hadalotofsugar ] and Tanvir Harris [ tanvirus ] (open with permission) Location: The gym (Deck 3) Date: Present Rating: PG-13 for men fighting and cursing. ( this can't possibly go wrong! )
Tanvir's been doing a little better, but not by much. Beating down Jinx was the most of a workout he'd gotten in a while, and on the one hand, he's pleased he can still land heavy hits, but on the other it bothers him that the one fight he's had...wasn't really much of a fight. But he's seen King move, and he's pretty sure he has the guy pegged as a fighter, so this should be good.
So it's with a little bit of a spring in his step that he walks into the gym, barefoot as usual and wearing a similar tank top and loose pants as King, and makes his way over to the man with a grin.
When Tanvir speaks, King pauses, dropping his arms as he glances over with a grin. Despite the cool initial meeting, and the attack on Jinx, (which King had silently agreed with but kept his mouth shut, since he lived with Bryn and didn't want to sleep on the couch) King thinks Tanvir is an okay guy.
And hey, he's the perfect guy to have a friendly spar against!
"Nice to see you too, sweetcheeks," he says, offering a hand to shake.
Yeah, so they got started on the wrong foot, but in retrospect (and sober), Tan thinks he totally understands where King was coming from, and y'know? He can't really fault the guy for it. It boosted his respect for the man just enough to go from grudging to friendly.
He shakes King's hand easily. Good grip, not too bone-crushing, not too limp-wristed. This is basically a come-on for sparring partners, and he's sure King knows it as well as he does. He doesn't let go right away.
"So I heard a rumor you're a bit of a fighter." Well, that's not entirely a lie. It's a rumor he heard in his own head, but it still counts, right?

King doesn't hold grudges very long if you haven't actually wronged him (and aren't a vampire). His grip is likewise strong, a good balance between not crushing and not limp. Similarly, he doesn't make a move to let Tanvir's hand go. They are manly fighting men, yo.
"Just a rumor, eh?" King says thoughtfully, grin fierce. "You'd have heard right. I heard that you used to be a bit of a bouncer. Think you've got the stamina to take me? I'm not drunk, tonight." King's tone is teasing, however; friendly rivalry!
