[Duck has taken to wandering, though she's more than cautious now after Anna's attack. She's been a bit scared, but she's trying her very best to be brave. Maybe this place really is dangerous.

Up ahead, she sees Link, though and breaks into a smile.]

Link! Hi!

[He's already unhappy when he hears a voice say his name, but some of it is obscured by surprise-- he'd been looking for Duck before, and he's glad she's alright. He can't bring himself to ignore her, so he turns to look down the hall, hoping he doesn't look as bad as he feels but doubting it considerably. As an afterthought, he raises a hand to wave it with equal halfheartedness.]

[Huh? What she knew of link-- the boy was normally so cheerful. What was that? She approaches at a run, unable to mask her worry.]

Hey, I haven't seen you around! I was hoping I'd run into you...

[He immediately takes a step back, expression surprisingly apprehensive at her worry-- he knew she was going to ask, but he really doesn't want to think about it, and now he just doesn't want to be here. He looks at her and realizes for the first time that she looks really really young, and what if-- something happens to her, too? He knows how possible that is, it seems like anyone at all he gets close enough to call a friend gets hurt somehow. Is it him making all of this harm to the people he cares about? What if it is is fault, after all?

He just doesn't want to be here, he doesn't want to talk to her and this thought is scaring him. He may regret it later, but right now he can't bring himself to care, and his eyes are tearing up so that's even more incentive, he doesn't want her to see-- he turns on his heal and runs. He doesn't realize, but he'll run to Sergei's again from the direction he's come.]
