I cannot believe the filth the Prophet continues to publish. One would think they would have some degree of professionalism in their printing rather than the one-sided Ministry biased prose they continue to produce. I mean really, Minerva McGonagall, putting the reopening of the school above safety issues. I can assure you, as I was there, of ( Read more... )

Fleur lass,
Aye now, 'twas well done to both you and Headmistress McGonagall for organising such an important and worthwhile event. The Prophet's motives seem questionable at best, and their reporting's as biased as ever.

Seamus-

Bonjour! Je suis désolé! I have not looked at my journal in a few days. Their reporting is most definitely biased, and offending. The least they could have done was included a picture of how beautiful the grounds are now and the success of the event.

Even if they buried it on the back page.

Fleur,

No one who knows the Headmistress or you could possibly think the event was half-arsed or not thoroughly protected. The Prophet is amazingly inaccurate these days - trust me.

You really don't think the Periodic Inquiry is any better? Personally, I don't think so, but everyone keeps telling me I'm being paranoid or that I should be thanking whoever these blokes are. I don't know, there's just something about it that makes me uneasy. How do they know the things they know? I don't know...it's a bit off to me.

But, I just wanted to say thank you for organizing the Hogwarts event. It was really good to be there - and help get things back together.

Harry,

Merci. I agree the Prophet is just stirring up trouble lately.

I don't know, Harry. It just seems as if, well, if the Prophet is reporting one horribly biased story, and the Inquiry is printing another biased story. Is one really better than the other? Suppose Messrs. Buttson and Potcher really are on the 'good' side, if they are still only printing a one-sided biased paper is that really any better than what the Prophet is doing. Even if it is the truth.

The public media should print the truth, and with no bias. And leave people to form their own opinions about what is good/bad, right/wrong.

I have no idea where they have gotten their information, Harry. I suppose they'll have contacts at the Ministry to get insider information. It reminds me a lot of the year I was at Hogwarts with you, and the Prophet continued to print all that rubbish, but where did they get the information then?

De rien, Harry. It was my pleasure.

But I rather like the opinion of the Inquiry verses the one from the Prophet.

The Inquiry said it best when they talked about why the Prophet reports on what it does. To steal the light off what is really needed to be discussed. The Prophet didn't talk about the Gala much last time, it only spoke about the scandal behind the 'dates'-- this time, unfortunately the Inquiry is being used as the distraction to not say how many people are supporting Hogwarts as well as they are. For you see- talking about Hogwarts would be talking about the anti-Ministry funding, and anti-Ministry taint. And since the Prophet is in it with the Ministry, Hogwarts won’t be much of a focal point.

But the cleaning up was wonderful, and I’m sure everyone thinks so. Thank you so much Fleur for the invitation!

It's not that I disagree with the Inquiry, because I definitely think they've got it right, moreso than the Prophet.

That said, it's not the job of the media to influence people nor should they be allowed to twist the truth or spin their bias in the writing. The story should be written, and without the opinion of its writer or an organization. And gossip should be left to Witch Weekly, the newspaper should be just that, news.

Let the people think for themselves and come to their own conclusions. No organization, or paper, for that matter, should tell us what to believe or think.

Merci, Tonks and merci beaucoup for coming and helping to make it go off so well.
