Fun with Coreldraw and RPG maps

I have a new addiction - mucking about making contour lines look more 'realistic' on maps I'm drawing for military science fiction RPGs. I want game maps which look like proper topographic maps, not like fantasy novel frontispiece maps. I'm using CorelDraw and making the initial pile of contours is dead easy. I think I might need to make the rivers a paler blue to show up more. Thoughts?

I'd add that I enjoyed the palace coup bits a lot, but still can't get past the petty vindictiveness of him getting his own back on the descendants of the guy who wronged him. That act makes me doubt the 'rightness' of all his other decisions!

I quite liked that - that he wasn't perfect. That ties in with any number of Traveller adventures where the Imperium (or some aspect of it like Naval Intelligence or whatever) turns out to be not-exactly-the-good-guys.
