There’s an inaugural ball to celebrate the election of the new wardens tonight. It will probably be a lot like the winter formal, only with speeches at the beginning.

I will be looking forward to seeing you there. I hadn't heard of another event tonight, though. Are festivities of this kind common here?

It’s been unusually festive lately, which is a nice change from the seriousness that is usually the overwhelming mood of the City. There are not many formal events here, or large parties that I know about; aside from this week’s, the last events of this type were at the end of December.

The Ball is going to be to celebrate the election and inauguration of the new wardens, so there will probably not be another one for the same reasons until after another election is held at some point in the future.

From all I gathered about this place and its time, the New Year's celebrations should be soon, and I couldn't imagine that Sun Ce would let that opportunity pass. But that aside, I can imagine that life here is normally less relaxed. The curses I experienced so far gave me an idea about the power they could have. But you must have more experience with that.

I see... Could you explain the exact position of these wardens? I wasn't given any clear information on that yet, but somebody suggested they are the closest thing to an authority here, deities aside.
