I have sufficiently recovered to tell the tale of my (brief) trip into London.  We set off early-ish and made our way to Farnborough where we caught the train into London to Waterloo station.  We then took the Northern Line to the station that was aparently the correct one for going to the British Museum.  This was all followed by wandering around ( Read more... )

Yeah travelling with people who are being grumpy is never fun. I spent most of my time in Ireland on my own so that I got to see excatly what I wanted (no one else was aparently interested in all the great sites in Dublin, just the shops). Is Bloomsbury really a nothing district? I would have thought it would be more interesting what with it being the area where Virgina Woolf and all that lot hung out. Sucks about work too. I'm sort of in the same boat since I'm waiting around for my temp agency to call me with work :(

oh and post offices: Everytime I tried to find one in my travels I never could. I think I eventually braved the thing that said it was a post office but looked like the place had been condemed. It was these 2 old ladies sitting at the back of this dingy little place selling all the stamps. Madness. I hope you find one soon, I'm expecting my postcard! ;)

yeah, it is difficult dealing with other ppl, but i find it kind of lonely when i'm travelling on my own. as for bloomsbury, it had a lot of apparently posh buildings and what seemed to be nice houses, but there wasn't really much to appeal to ppl wanting to see the sights, there were the odd shops but a lot of them were closed and they weren't all that exciting
