i'm not completely assed out. But when my vacation and sickj time pay out is gone I have no idea what I'll do. It takes time to find a good job. But, do I start looking now even though I can't start a job until May? Do I wait and hit the market after I'm ready to go back? Should I send out resumes from the hospital? I mean seriously, what bad timing. I guess it could be worse, it could be right now. A couple of months before I pop and out of a job. Now that would be bad.

Is '06 looking bad for you already hon? What's goin' on?

I don't know the laws in the State you are in, but you might want to check to see what options are available to you. I think you might be entitled to a maternity leave and medical converage for a period of time after your employment ends.

I know that you can also pay for medical coverage via "Cobra" for up to 6 months after your term of employment ends. This would at least cover medical expenses for after the 13th.

I'm getting a nice severance package. All my vacation and sick time paid out. So, I'll have a little time to cost. I'm also working with my boss to list my final date of employment as April since the insurance will run out at the end of your final month. COBRA is alright, but they only pay a small portion of your coverage as I understand it. I don't think they jump right in and pick up where your insurance left off.
