I get all of the human interaction I need from the office's daily Skype chatroom. I'm also usually on IM with Kaytebell and Winterfox.
And I get to be in my slippers! And save money on lunch and eat better meals! And do random acts of housecleaning at lunch, so I don't have to do them after work, thus making after-work time more relaxing. And have random moments of kitty scritching!
On a side note - I just sat and watched your whole icon go past. I love Chuck Norris jokes.
i get a lot of ims and that keeps me sane, and maybe i'd get used to it, but i'm not sure if it's one of those things that are for me. it's only temporary, so i am sure i can 'suffer' through it - ha! :)
and chuck norris rules. :) i'll even use him again just for you! :)

Granted the adult conversations are a bit lacking at times.
But the money saved on food, GAS, wear and tear on the car, insurance (less mileage usually means lower rate), and oh yeah DAYCARE more than makes up for it. Plus there's the lack of rush hour traffic to sit in (I am saving at least 3 hours a day not commuting).
Plus if you can continue after maternity leave you will be able to spend so much more time with the little one. They are really quite entertaining. Maybe you can do a mix of work from home and office time and get the best of both worlds?

i save zero money on gas - i commute to work with my husband. i usually bring my lunch, so i'm not saving a lot of money there too :) and daycare will start when my leave is over, so i'm not really saving anything there either. this isn't perminant, just until i give birth :)
even if i could continue after leave was up, it's near impossible to find a day care in the area that will charge part time rates and let you drop off part time. and i don't want in home day care, so...
In home day-care has been great for us. I work from home full time, and have been for a few years now. I totally miss the human interaction but it's worth it to be able to walk out of my office door and play with Callie, even for only 5 minutes at a time. Of course its not for everyone :)
Good luck with the baby, he/she'll come when they are ready (or the doc says it's time). It's all good. (was that zen enough for ya?)
