violet hill is probably my favorite off that cd, though, in general, i really like that cd, which surprises me because i've never liked coldplay much.

I really dig Coldplay's new album. I feel like with "X & Y," they were trying too hard to sound like a stadium rock band, i.e. U2 wannabees. But with this album, they were able to take that U2 sound but not lose their own sound in the process. Which if you think about it is kind of ironic because Brian Eno produces stuff for U2, so you'd think if anything, they'd sound more like U2 on this album, but they were able to create a perfect U2-Coldplay hybrid.
