As a fellow classicist I expect you to cringe in horror at the huge number of historical inaccuracies in 300. But at the same time, take it in your stride, it is a film which knows it is being ridiculously over the top, so I kinda like it still. Even if they make Xerxes a weird 7ft creature with an odd voice.

To be honest I know little about Sparta or the Persions and I wasn't on the look out for historical innacuracies. I found it really absorbing actually, really really enjoyed it :)

Or even the Persians! :P Basically any of the weird deformed monsters were wrong and why the hell was Ephialtes the elephant man!? I know it is mainly based on the Grapic Novel but tut tut!

Something terrible you want to know about Xerxes that I only found out yesterday and almost cried when I did? He is played by the REALLY hot Brazilian model that is in that Nicole Kidman Chanel 5 advert. He is better know for being the guy Laura Linney falls in love with in Love, Actually (I insist on the proper punctuation of that name) and who is also in Lost as one of the background characters as the over protective boyfriend.
