Found the Tsunami review hard to read... such gullibility. I think the lone comment at the end was more on target.

I really dislike books that pull punches too, but YA is no more guilty of this than the adult genre...

Finally read the YA article today. I do "get" all of the points made, and I agree one should read what one wants to read, but I still personally have generally negative feelings about the popularity of YA fiction among (mostly-female?) adults, as you know. I found the comments interesting. One was a new idea (to me): the poster disliked that YA books are labeled and marketed as a category - similar to the inane "chick lit" label/category; never thought of it that way, but I see the point.

The Lovecraft article makes too much sense. I always suspected Snape of getting his house Miskatonic scholarships en masse!
