Happy birthday to my baby sister, Margret! (I posted a few pictures of us from her wedding in July here.) May you have a terrific one, Sis!

And happy early birthday to two other fabulous people, delenn1960 and lbilover. May you both have fantastic days and wonderful years to come!

Heh! I love that quote!

I have been thinking about getting a rice cooker largely because of Alton Brown and his oatmeal advice. *writes down Zojirushi*

I almost forgot: it makes polenta, too, which is high on my list of things to try.

I'm with you! Cooking sounds like it would be such fun, but I only make time to enjoy it if I'm having guests, so my skills haven't particularly developed along those lines. heating and stirring, yep, that is me. ;)

Which model do you have? I see there are several.

I nipped right over to check out that list to see what he had to say about Lance... How interesting... It was the Terminator role that made me LOVE HIM and made me see him in every other thing he'd made. OMG, talk about your obscure crushes - To this day, I dream about Detective Vukovich. Talk about your angst-fests! Somewhere I have a gorgeous piece of fanfiction about Vukovich... :::ponders:::

Do we really want another Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy book, now that Douglas Adams is gone?

There *can't* be another Douglas Adams book without Douglas Adams. You know, it wasn't about the story - it was his voice, his humor, his wit, his insights, that made his books so extraordinary. You can't duplicate that (and why would I want you to?) This is WRONG (not in the good way.)

Have we ever talked Millennium? Because Henriksen as Frank Black has to be one of my favorite characters of all time. There's something I can't define about him that reminds me of my father, too; my father's a bit like what you'd get if Lance Henriksen and Tommy Lee Jones had a child together. Sorry if that's TMI. ;)

I feel your pain re: Douglas Adams, especially with the "why would you want to?" question.

It's official. September babies are the best.

Rice is good. Basmati's my favorite -- I actually made some last night, but I don't have a rice cooker. Do you like Indian food?

Yay for September babies! :) I hope you had a very happy birthday.

Rice is, indeed, good. And I love Indian food. And I still owe you an email. *headdesk*

I am so jealous of your rice cooker. I have spent more time lusting over Zojirushi rice cookers than I would like to admit. During the summer of rice cooker lust, Kat came very close to buying one for me as a birthday present, but I couldn't justify asking for something that expensive from her. The only Zojirushi product I own is a Mr. Bento, which is insanely large. I need more rice in my life. I could fill my Mr. Bento with rice and take him to work. Mmmm...

It's a strange coincidence that you would bring up rice. I had a conversation - I use that word loosely - with ReeRee on Monday about how much I love rice. She thought I was exaggerating when I tried to explain my feelings; she can't understand the depth of my love for rice.

I looked at those rice cookers for months before I finally broke down and bought one! I'm now a Zojirushi fangirl. I think your Mr. Bento needs rice. Mmmmm, rice.
