I'm trying to get my ducks in a row for 2008. Here's the latest from my world...

1. My forthcoming book, Tecumseh: A Biography, is now available for pre-order directly from Greenwood Press and from Amazon.com.

2. Pop Thought has just conducted a new interview with me (published Jan. 3, 2008) about the book. You can read it here.

Did you ever meet Verlyn Flieger of the University of Maryland? I took her undergrad Comparative Mythology class back in the eighties. I'm ashamed to admit that she did most of the lit review for my paper for me (just selecting the sources, not the writing). I assume she did that for all the students in the class?

Although I certainly didn't know how to write a scholarly paper by the time I graduated, as my first employer pointed out to me when I submitted a draft project report. :(

My paper was on Classical Fairie Tale Elements in the Lay of Beren and Luthien. At least I came up with the topic myself.

I've had the chance to see Verlyn Flieger talk, and I definitely am aware of her impressive scholarly work, but I don't know her personally. I bet her class was a fascinating one to take! It sounds like you chose a great topic for your project, at any rate.
