[oo3][El Dorado Hospital] Bored, Bored Doctor...

Carolyn Lam sighed as she tapped her pen on the charts in front of her. She leaned forward, dropping the pen on the desk as she absently flipped through the different papers, making sure all the information was filled out. This was probably one of the worst things about being a doctor. The endless amounts of paperwork. Obviously there were other ( Read more... )

"Save me from the mountain of paperwork I know I'm facing?" Martha supplied as she made her way into the room, sighing heavily as she adjusted her doctor's jacket. She was sick of the stuff already, but in a town where no one really gets hurt, there wasn't much else to do.

She glanced over the desk as she made her way closer, before smirking. "Seems like you were hoping for the same thing, yeah?"

Seeing that it was Martha, Carolyn's smile faded for a moment. But she quickly flashed her an amused one. Not who she had been expecting - but she wasn't about to complain. "Is it horrible that I was actually hoping that someone was sick or injured?"

"When it's this slow? I don't really blame you," Martha sighed as she sat down at her desk. "Doesn't have to be anything major -- just somethign to break up the day."

"My thoughts exactly," Carolyn agreed before dropping her head onto her desk with a loud thump. "Nothing though. Not even a runny nose." She turned her head so she could see Martha better. "This day has got to end."

There was a brisk knock at the door before the delivery boy opened it. In his hands was an arrangement of flowers with a note attached to the vase they were in. The other man's hand was occupied with a notepad with a list of names written along it. "I'm looking for a Carolyn Lam. This her office?"

Slowly rising to her feet, Carolyn looked from the flowers, to the guy and then back to the flowers. "Uh, yes it is. I'm Carolyn Lam."

"There are for you," he said holding the arrangement of flowers out for her to take. "And I need you to sign this."

Almost reluctantly, Carolyn moved forward and first took the notepad and quickly scrawled her signature next to her name and then she took the flowers. "Thanks...." She said, but the man was already out the door.

Shrugging, she walked back to her desk and set the arrangement down. Standing there, she just stared at it, not really sure what the heck was going on or why someone had sent her flowers. Finally after a few moments, she reached out and grabbed the note, flipping it open to read what it said.

In a simple scrawled handwriting was a note that read-

I'm sorry.

leaving no hints to the imagination as to who had sent them. King had tried to pick the things out on his own leaving the girls at the flower shop both laughing at him and pitying him. It wasn't his fault he knew next to nothing about colors and symbols and everything else they had told him about! A flower was a flower. Well, roses for when you really pissed someone off, but they had assured him something like this would be better than the small things he had in mind.

It really didn't take Carolyn long to figure out who exactly K was.... And for a brief microsecond, she was seriously tempted to dump the whole thing right into her trashcan. But, she didn't...

Sighing, she set the card down and stared at the flowers again. It was actually a sweet gesture, not one that she normally got - so it had her more than a bit surprised. She hadn't really thought she'd hear from him again, and poof! He goes and sent her a very lovely arrangement of flowers.

Muttering under her breath, she pulled her phone from her pocket and quickly wrote out a text for him and sent it before she could change her mind.

Thank you for the flowers, but you really didn't need to.
