[004:] [Location: El Dorado Diner] For when your life just isn't weird enough...

When he saw it the first time, John naturally assumed he was going insane.

It was possible he was falling back to that old sensibility; the one that was just so sure things like demons, angels, and all manner of supernatural beings just didn't exist. But it was also doubtful. After all, a diner full of practically naked patrons wasn't exactly ( Read more... )

Sophie was a people watcher. It was what she did for a living and she was pretty good at it. She often staked out the diner as something to do in her free time because it got a good mix of people that weren't in the mansion, and sometimes there were interesting things to watch. Like today, for example: a person who looked fairly straight-laced, throwing out that kind of line to someone who would most certainly kill him for it? Not the smartest move he ever made. She gave him a small smile at that, before placing an arm around his shoulders, and starting to point him towards the door. "I'm flattered," she said softly, her normal accent slipping back into place. "But I think it might be best if we get you back to the mansion."

She guided them out the door and started heading them back down the street, before extending a hand to him. "Sophie Devereaux."

Something in John made him lift an eyebrow at the accent change, but since she'd only been using the previous one to help him, he let it go. Besides, the rest of his brain was still far too stuck on trying to figure out what the hell was going on.

Once they were out on the street, he took a breath, eyes dropping down to her hand. "John Winchester." He forced a smile as his eyes made their way back up to hers, shaking her hand. "Really, I'm so sorry."

At least she wasn't getting as angry as his friend back there had been. "God, I hate this place." There was just no other explanation for it. "Thanks for the help back there."
