Darkness was just falling on the city as he and Abi geared up to go save Blade. Well... saving might not have exactly been the right word. No one saved Blade, generally, until now. What better way to introduce yourself for the first time as his backup when the man never knew you existed? King was giddy in a controlled fashion. He was anytime they

Abby was just about to head back out to her lab for the evening when she noticed someone looking way too confused to be one of El Dorado's regulars. It seemed like new people were popping up left and right. Apparently the 'gods' were getting bored with them. Maybe that would mean Abby could go home soon. Maybe that would mean something good. It probably didn't, but a girl could hope, right?
"It's elaborate, and the punchline is really lame, though. A let down, really." She gave him a sad little half-smile. "Bright side? A sweet room and a gold plated phone. Not-so-bright side? You're sort of trapped here. We all are."

Carefully the former vampire canted his head to the left looking down at the woman who was obviously a possible welcoming committee. Maybe. Didn't those usually contain balloons and a little more fanfare? Not that King ever expected anything like that for himself. Usually it involved people cursing his name and shooting guns at him. "What exactly do you mean by... trapped."

"I'm Abby Sciuto, by the way. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but I figure it's easier to just do it like a band aid."

"Band aid? Feels more like a waxing strip being ripped off." See King was the very protective sort about his quasi-family. Not being able to see them again made the man flex his hands in to fists as he crossed his arms. He'd find a way to bust himself out if he had too. Someone had to keep an eye on Abigail, Zoe, and the others. Which is why it took King more than a few seconds longer to respond to her offer for a handshake. "Hannibal King- most people call me King though."

"I'm sorry, but this isn't a joke. It might seem like one, but... It's really not." she informed him tucking her phone into the pocket of her labcoat.

Finally the bearded man crossed his arms looking down at the woman before one brow slowly arched upward. "So if this isn't some sort of elaborate hoax or a particular Whistler getting even with me, then what is it?"

She straightened the edge of her lab-coat and shrugged a little. "Basically you've been brought to El Dorado because some Gods found you worthy. So we're all stuck on this flying city and we're all from different times, different dimensions even."

Expectantly King waited. Eyes darting around before settling back on the woman infront of him. "You're being serious. Aren't you."

So seeing a confused looking man in lobby, didn't even really make her bat an eye lash, but his statement did.
Pausing, she glanced around, thinking that maybe he was addressing someone else. Not seeing anyone, she turned her attention back to him as she adjusted the shawl around her shoulders. "I'm sorry, but I don't understand which practical joke you're referring to."

If Abi had then he was going to have to plan his revenge. While they would be even with this, King was, well, the king at getting jokes over on his team mates.

She spread her hands out in a helpless gesture. "I'm sorry, but I don't know a Danica or a Whistler, and I don't think that they're here, to be perfectly honest." Her head tilted a little to the side as she observed the man. "I'm Inara... Perhaps I can help you?"

King didn't really expect the woman to know who Abi was. Not a lot of people knew about their services keeping the vampires from trying to take over the world. But it was what they did along with other smaller groups of Nightstalkers across the world. "Inara... I'm King." What could she do to help? Well Hannibal could think of a lot of things starting with them getting out of there. "So where are we? If we can get out of the city I'm sure I can get us somewhere safe."
