It didn't take much more but prompting from her mother for Ashley to be punctual. She usually was anyway, but that was beside the point. She strapped her weaponry on, as usual, then headed out. It wasn't a long walk, and the weather was balmy and pleasant. It was weird, actually, considering that half the time? It was raining back home. But she wasn't about to complain because of sunshine.

Ash spotted her mom the second she approached the little cafe, and her walk got a bit more brisk. She didn't waste time, either; just plopped right down. "What's up?"

"Hell if I know." She shrugged, rolling her eyes. Her mom could win this one.

"Exactly my point. Do not assume anything until you have some basis for facts."

Ashley just heaved a melodramatic sigh, walking in silence for a few minutes. "Fine. I'll give them a chance. But a chance, Mom. And don't think I'm gonna take it easy on them just because you like them."

Helen shot her a look. "A chance is all that I ever ask from you, Ashley."
