It sure is nice having my own place, after couch-hopping for so long. I'm glad I have the dog, living so far out in the boondocks. She barks, so I'll have warning of any approaching people

I rest assured that she will be happier out there in the woods than in my backyard. Though I still demand visiting rights on holidays.

But she's useful! She guards the house and kills vermin. Plus, garbage disposal. Maybe one of these days I'll tie a duster to her tail, too.

She's a blue tick coon hound - hence the gleeful killing of small woodland creatures.

It's going alright. I got the windows fixed and the roof temporarily patched, so it's at least secure from the elements. Next on my list is the wiring.

I'm of the opinion dogs are best kept with yards. Especially dogs like Sootie, who like to run. I hope she'll let a few cats hang around; there's moles about that cats would be more adept at catching.
