Oh, well done! I was on the edge of my chair, especially when the intruder showed up. How scary for Daniel! Well, for me in his place, anyway. He handled it pretty well. *g*
I'm glad there's an old-fashioned happy ending. There are wonderful stories out there where injuries and disabilities don't go away, but I'll admit I'm happiest when things work out this way. :-)
Aah, thank you! I don't handle bad endings that well either - some are all right depending on the context, but in general I just can't do them! Thank you so much for reading, I'm glad you enjoyed it :D
Daniel sighed and shifted himself into a more comfortable position, resettling his cheek. “Relatively. How’d you know I was up?”
Jack smiled at the ceiling and brought his hand over to ruffle Daniel’s hair. “I’ve listened to you sleep for years.”
He could feel Daniel smile against his skin. “That would almost sound creepy coming from anyone else.”
::grins:: Love that exchange, and the happy ending, too, and even the achey flashback where they can't let go of their jobs to live with each other -- that rang especially true to me, and the way they tried hard to keep it from messing up the time they did have together, but couldn't manage to. In other words, with regard to your notes, the relationship-centric stuff worked just fine for me! Very glad you wrote for the ficathon.
Thank you so so much. I really appreciate your feedback :) I'm so glad you enjoyed it. I love it when others pull out quotes that they enjoy :D Thank you!
Wonderful characterizations! So spot on that neither would, nor could really, leave their careers behind for the other. They're both so tied into what they do; it's a part of who they are. I really hope they're able to make it work now. The romance-y bits just made me smile, like the snuggle. :D Thanks for sharing this!
You seriously just made my night. I've been fighting with my creativity these last few days and your comment made me smile so big :D Thank you thank you!!
