Mom was the 5th of 7 kids. For various reasons she wasn't close to her siblings, and as a consequence, I'm not close to my cousins. Still, I'm friended to several of Facebook, though many of them grew up in the small rural town my Mom left, and the conservatism of their political posts generally make me cringe.

Sorry to hear about the family/covid issues. It's maddening to read/see/hear folks who you always assumed had a modicum of common sense show that they don't.

And I hate the media that allows such outright lies to continue to be spread. I shudder to think what my mother would have done had she been around when Trump won--She'd probably have bought a MAGA hat along with all the bullshit.

I too shudder to think how my mom would have handled the Trump years, but it would have been the reverse. She’d have been totally stressed out and possibly hysterical from all the lies and scandals. She was developing some dementia and loss of emotional control. But damn, sometimes I still wish she was here.
