I know after the chaos of this weekend, a number of you may be shaken and looking for answers. I wish I had them to provide. We are still compiling lists of the missing, the Rift-taken and the dead. My people are personally seeing to this. If you need assistance, shelter, or help in any other way, we will do our best to provide

Almost all of Torchwood has disappeared. Including the entire command structure.
It's just me and a few of the support staff.
I know this is unorthodox, to say nothing else about it, but it's been a long time since I was involved in the politics of this place. Torchwood isn't going under. I think Owen would take it upon himself to personally harvest and distribute my livers for consumption if I let it go down. But I need someone to touch base with, and I need to get my footing again.
I'm sure you wouldn't assume it, but I'n not asking for charity. You know me, or you used to, and I'm sure we can come to a mutually beneficial arrangement.

I see the journals detect you as such, again. I have to admit, no, I hadn't expected to hear from you. But I can't say I've been averse to.
The world has changed since your abdication; you're absolutely right in noting it. I'd be happy to meet with you and discuss it. And if you're asking for my help in re-establishing Torchwood, I would be happy to assist you in whatever way I can. You are still one of the few Wanderer authorities in Chicago, and I would prefer not to see you fall.

There are those of us still standing, still fighting.
Should you need my assistance, do not hesitate in asking for it.

I'm sure the days ahead will be trying for a number of us; still, Chicago has stood this long, and we have no intention of losing to chance or adversity.

I had planned to contact you regarding something, though I fear that plans for that may be put on hold while we deal with this newest development. Still, there is an opportunity which will soon arise which may do more for the justice and equality of the races than politics alone can do. When things have settled - if indeed they ever settle - we should speak.

Whatever comes shall come, but no, sir. We have no intention of losing.

Of course. I have been attempting to make strides in that regard, but it has been a frustrating exercise of one step forward and ten steps back. I'll do my part and I'll do it to the best of my ability.
Whenever you are able to, we'll speak.

I know it unlikely to be well-received, but carry my condolences to her family. And my regret.

We met only briefly, but I am sorry to hear of your loss.
If there is anything I can do for you, please do not hesitate to ask.
Sincerely,
