Hey I'm the killjoy anon who thought the ending of this on the meme was really rushed and... Can't remember what I said, haven't read it in ages. But this-- this is where I'd've liked it to end all along. You're correct, there were too many ideas in the first one, and the flow wasn't the same for all events. This version is much better, more contained and more definite.

And now that I'm not distracted by the ending, I can say that I do enjoy this version. I liked the fuckeduppery and I like how you write children as actually being childlike, which idk, some people seem incapable of.

It was rushed. I got to that point and was like "I have to recap canon. Really?" And kind of moved very quickly through it. The result was a 13-comment box fill that should have really been almost 20. And that's a lot, even for me, especially when the extra words don't really tell the story. :p

I think I missed this on the meme. God, I felt so bad for the boys in this and for the loss of innocence. But I am so, so glad that Lelouch killed Genbu. Is it just me or are Genbu and Charles usually portrayed as sexually depraved in kink meme fics? :P

It was truly heartwarming how Lelouch was willing to go so far to protect Suzaku, and I like how Suzaku gradually learned what his father was doing was wrong. I also like how you tied it in with their canon perspectives -- Lelouch had no regrets about killing Genbu, while Suzaku was much more ambivalent about the whole thing.

Overall, I liked this. I liked the bittersweet-ness, and I always like reading about these two as kids.

Well, in all fairness, I made an LJ after cgkinkmemeii was started because I realized that everyone else had one. I think that's pretty stupid to admit. :p

Oh, may.I'm not a huge fan of the couple anymore but I still believe that the best moments they had were while their shared childhood.I loved how you wrote about the relationship,pure in its desire, making a total contrast with Genbu's abuse towards Suzaku.
