Wow. green_ghost allowed me to show her famous art piece on my site, and I've never before seen the original. Thank you for posting it!

I should probably post it up on her gallery on The Green Door so people can see it all the time in comparison to her lovely re-rendering.

Absoltutely incredible and so beautiful. One moment a true rememberance of this day for us and similar days for others in the world. The other, a moment that comes close to our hearts too as the frustration of battle and futility weigh so heavily and make it at times unbarable one must give in to their grief in comforting and understanding arms.
hugs you Its very moving xooxoxxoxo v

Tolkien was remembering the fields and foxholes of WWI when he described Mordor. It is very fitting.

There is something very touching and immediate and unfortunately intemporal in that picture. Green Gost's rendition is extremely well done.

What can I say?
I was about to write that we are very fortunate not to be in a war right now, and I remembered it wasn't true: a lot of us are thrown in different wars.

We are in too many wars at the moment. Ridiculous isn't it? Humans with brains resorting to violence to resolve issues. Just ridiculous.
