If you had me under your command and could make me write anything, regardless of whether or not I know the fandom or if anybody even writes fic in that fandom and no matter how crack-addled it might be, what would you love to see me write?I'm not volunteering to actually write anything, since I'm still working on the fic from the last challenge ( Read more... )

I would love to read some Eugenides/Attolia, especially from the time right after they got engaged. I think it would be so interesting to develop their relationship while staying true to their respective personalities -- and the battle to fall in love while trying not to ... *g* It would be fabulous.

Hee! I can't see myself ever writing any fic for that series, honestly. Partly because their voices are so distinct and so witty that I imagine they'd be very hard to write, and partly because I find the canon so complete on its own that I don't find myself with the urge to even read fic (that is, if there is any), much less write it.

Though I'm definitely counting on a sequel. (The Baby of Attolia? O.O) If it never comes, I may have to turn drastically to fic.

Oh, I know it would be super hard to manage! My romantic soul just really wanted to read more. Of all my favorite books, I think those would be the hardest to emulate or expand upon, just because the characters' voices are so unique.

It's funny; when I love a tv show, my response is to go fic hunting. I don't have the same response to books I love, unless they're long series (eg, Harry Potter). I would think it would be the opposite - TV shows give you so much more time with the characters that you'd think I'd be craving more time with the book characters. But I feel like the format of television means long winding narratives with plenty of loose ends to leave things open for future development; there's a lot more source material, but there are also a lot more opportunities to branch off. Whereas novels - especially extremely well-crafted ones, like Turner's - are cohesive wholes unto themselves, bound up neatly and self-containedly.

Anyway. Aside from all that, I completely know what you mean - who doesn't want more Eugenides? And Attolia! And Eugenides/Attolia! (Perhaps my problem is that I don't want a one-shot, I want an entire novel with a fantastic Turner plot. Also, Sophos is in peril! Save Sophos!)

The rest of A Road of Shattered Glass.

*looks around* Who said that? Certainly not me. Cough cough. ;)

Just joking. Uhm, probably... Trelawny/Giant Squid on some sort of wizard dating show or something XD

Really, I'm very interested to see what a Who fic by you would be like, especially one with Rose, because you love her so much.

Um, I completely agree with everyone else. If you ever get an inkling of a plot bunny for Eugenides/Attolia, I might consistently poke you to write it. >.> And, I know that Shattered Glass is kind of in the past, but I remember Lian saying how great the plot was, and I'm sad that I'll never see it? I guess. And please, Doctor Who, of course. How's the companion fic coming along? :)
