cleaning up the ol' flist

Hey folks. I'll be sprucing up my flist a bit over the next several days. My objective is not to remove anyone who would like to stay, so if I err in that regard please let me know. But I've not made any cuts in the time I've been on lj and my flist is way out of date. I've still got people on it with whom I've not interacted in (literally) years,

Sounds completely reasonable and sensible to me. I promise not to be offended with any defriending if you need to make space! I feel your pain on the comments issue, I will take it as read that you responded to this one with something hilarious and wise ;-)

Alas, I seem to be all out of hilarious and wise this morning! :P (I'm definitely not a morning person.)

I appreciate your generous spirit. But I just friended you and haven't even had the chance to get to know you yet ... you will not escape so easily. ;)

This is more because I've in general had the policy that I'll friend back anyone who friends me and there were several people on my list that I don't think I've EVER interacted with beyond that initial step ... as well as folks with whom my interests have just diverged. Just time for a little pruning to keep the ol' flist healthy and vibrant.

Makes total sense to me. I know it's hard to keep up with the flist and all when you're busy with RL and really your family comes first. I miss you when you're not around as much, but I totally understand and I'm always here for ya. :0) Keep in touch hon when you can. I would love to hear from you whenever you can.

Thank you so much, hon, for your understanding. I know it's silly, but feel so guilty about this. :P

However, I have had to face reality; I'd have trade off my (real) life (and my family) to have any hope of keeping up here. Sometimes I wind up doing that anyway, but I can't sustain that over the long term. So, I do what I can when I can and I just hope that my (real) friends will understand and know that I wish it could be more.

*g* this is timely for me in that I've been dropping into the comments of everyone that I regularly read (in that when you up date I read it) and telling them, I'm reading but this internet is from the stone ages so if I don't comment that is why.

Fair enough, LJ shouldn't be a job, it should be a fun thing.
