I'm a big fan of Raphael's on Center (X streets Oxford and Shattuck) -- Italian restaurant, does no non-fish meat (not a problem for me, but...), I recall the Irish coffees as being rather generous.
I also enjoyed La Mediteranee down on Telegraph (quite far South) when I went there a couple of months ago.
You're talking about Raphael's, right? I once got talking to the head of wine there (she was working bar that night) (who wasn't Jewish) but told us she was studying all kinds of different things about wine in kosher settings. I can't remember much of what she told us apart from that the Israeli white we tried was very good.
If you live right by there, you live by the 43 line, and I think China Village is by far the best restaurant in that price range (and it often ends up less than 10 a head even without being price conscious). Everything on the menu besides the Cantonese food is outstanding, and the specials or anything they suggest to you are invariably spectacular.
I don't know your aunt and whether she minds sitting on grass, but I think that eating Cheeseboard pizza on the median is one of the the ultimate Berkeley experiences, not to be denied to any visitor.
A fine choice for which I have the utmost respect. Although I fall into the "Gregoire's an amazing restaurant, which I enjoy going when I'm in North Berkeley Sunday, Monday, Tuesday through Friday 2-4:30 and 7-9 (8-9 in the summer) and Saturday 2:30-4:30 and 7-9 (8-9) in summer" camp myself.

Cha'Am is a good idea, especially since I told them to meet me at my place and I live right by there.
